Sunday March 18, 2012 - Thomastown

We arrived yesterday, St. Patrick's Day, drove into Dublin (lefthand side of road/steering wheel on right) and found Elodie and Sean.  Great to hug Elodie but did not stay long as Dublin was gearing up for a huge parade (cirque soleil on steroids).  Drove 90km south to Thomastown to stay at Mount Juliet - built in 17th century.
Expansive gardens with spring flowers in bloom.  Stone walls and century old oak trees along morning walk.
We drove the smaller roads and visited Kilkenny and Kells - neat farms with green pastures outlined in shrubs or stone walls.  Ended our day at the manor house pub.
We will try and keep up with this daily and not get to verbose.  Bookmark the page if you care to care to come back and check on our progress.

  1. I use to live vicariously through myself... now I must live vicariously through the Opstad's . Thank goodness you are world travelers. Looking forward to your adventures. Our experience in Ireland was in Galway, and we loved every minute of it. The downtown pubs were unique and the city sits on the water, gorgeous! Have fun, looking forward to tomorrow's post! Enjoy some Bangars and mash for me... Tom Rodgers
